Rainbow Flint Ridge Flint
wrapped in Argentium Sterling Silver

Rainbow Flint Ridge Flint from Ohio wrapped in Argentium Sterling Silver wire.   This piece was created from flint from the Flint Ridge area. It has beautiful gold’s, reds, and yellows with striations running through it.  It's enhanced by the beautiful Argentium sterling silver that encases it.  Flint Ridge is a nearly eight-mile long vein of high-quality flint located in Licking and Muskingum counties of eastern Ohio. All of Ohio's prehistoric peoples used Flint Ridge flint to make their spear points, arrowheads, or other tools.  What a great find.  The piece is approximately 3 ¾   inches long from the top of the bail to the bottom of the stone.  It is displayed on a sterling silver chain.

Argentium® Sterling Silver is a patented and trademarked alloy that is at least 92.5% pure silver, just like traditional sterling silver. What makes it different from traditional sterling silver is that a small amount of germanium replaces some of the copper that is usually the other 7.5% of sterling silver. Peter Johns, a professor of silversmithing at Middlesex University in England, invented Argentium® Sterling Silver in 1996.

Argentium® Sterling Silver is highly tarnish-resistant and does not firescale.
